Knewitz Riesling, Rheinhessen, Germany, 2018

About this wine

Two brothers in their 20's run this small family estate and they are establishing a fine reputation for themselves. They have some vineyards with the highest pure limestone content in Germany and this brings a very precise style of dry Riesling. Organic grapes are hand-picked and fermented spontaneously in stainless steel. The result is a crisp, super-refreshing, applely, textured dry style. I believe that they are really well-priced as they grow their reputation, so Riesling nuts out there should what this space!

"Quince and fragrant green fruits. Grapefruit-pith tang on the palate, crisp and straightforward but elegant in its simplicity and precision. VGV" (JH) jancisrobinson.com
